Patient Carrier Screening & Counselling Services
We partner with Sara Levene from Guided Genetics to offer genetic counselling as well as testing for any conditions identified in your top two donor candidates. This service is available for both UK and international donors listed on Sussex Sperm Bank’s website. This test is called Preconception Carrier Screening.
Sara Levene is a Consultant Genetic Counsellor and a nationally recognised leader in the field of Genetic Counselling, who has previously chaired the Association of Genetic Nurses and Counsellors. Sara has over 20 years of experience in the field of carrier screening, genetic testing in pregnancy, fertility genetics and PGT (genetic testing of embryos). Sara recently founded the private genetics service Guided Genetics and is proud to be partnering with Sussex Sperm Bank to ensure that the best genetics services are available to customers.
Cost for Genetic counselling only:

60 minutes £200.00
Cost for Genetic counselling & Testing:
£600.00
Turnaround Time:
3-4 weeks
We strongly recommend securing a family slot and vials before beginning the carrier screening process on your selected donor(s), as the donor’s vials may no longer be available by the time your genetic test results are complete.
First-Choice Donor
To reserve your first-choice donor, you will need to purchase:
· A family slot, and
· The required vial(s)
Second-Choice Donor
If you would like to reserve a second-choice donor, please note:
· Future availability cannot be guaranteed unless reserved.
· A non-refundable Donor Reserve Fee of £500 will be required
· The second-choice donor reservation will match your first-choice booking (e.g., if you purchase 2 vials for your first-choice donor, the second-choice reservation will also include 2 vials) To begin the carrier screening process, please email [email protected] to request the carrier screening form. Once your completed form has been received, the Guided Genetics team will contact you within 1–2 business days to arrange a genetic counselling appointment.
