Request Additional Genetic Testing on a Donor
Would you like to request additional carrier screening on one of our donors? We are here to help.
Over the past decade, carrier screening has evolved to include more genetic conditions than ever before. Carrier screening panels can vary by laboratory and may also differ depending on when the test was performed. This means that the donor’s screening panel may not match the one used for the patient or egg source.
If you would like to request additional testing on a donor — to screen for an autosomal recessive condition that was not included in their original panel — please see the information below and proceed to the request form when you are ready.
How supplemental testing works:

- Once you’ve submitted the request form below, a member of our team will review your request and contact you with further information. At this stage, we’ll also assist you with placing an order for a family slot and vials for your chosen donor.
- Within 1–2 business days, we will contact the donor to obtain consent for additional testing and coordinate a DNA sample collection.
- You will be notified once the donor consents to testing.
- For international donors, a fee of $550 will be charged by our genetics team.
- For UK donors, please contact us for pricing (please note a sample/donor co-ordination fee of £150.00 plus VAT applies)
- Results are typically reported within 3-4 weeks after the sample collection.

Should I purchase a family slot and vials before requesting genetic testing?
Yes, we recommend purchasing a family slot and the required number of vials for your chosen donor at your earliest convenience. Donor Inventory is subject to change. If you do not purchase vials prior to requesting genetic testing, it is possible that vials may no longer be available by the time the donor consents to testing. Please note that we cannot hold vials on your behalf.
