We understand that treatment plans can change, and sometimes you may find that you have donor sperm vials you no longer need. Our Vial Buy Back Programme is designed to offer eligible clients the opportunity to sell unused vials back to Sussex Sperm Bank.
Our Vial Buy Back Programme
If you purchased your donor sperm from Sussex Sperm Bank and have kept your vials safely stored with us, you may be eligible to participate in our buyback programme.
Each buy back request is reviewed individually and is subject to approval by Sussex Sperm Bank.
Refunds are made directly to your original payment method within 3 weeks of your buy back being approved.
To be eligible:
- Your buy back request must be made within 24 months of your original purchase.
- The vials must have remained in continuous storage at Sussex Sperm Bank and must never have left our facility. Once a vial has been shipped or removed from our laboratory, it is no longer eligible for buy back.
- You must have an active and valid Pregnancy Slot with Sussex Sperm Bank.
- Your storage account must be fully paid and up to date.
If your request is approved, we will reimburse 50% of the original purchase price of the eligible vials. Please note that storage fees, shipping costs, discounts, promotional offers and other non-product charges are not included in the reimbursement amount.
Please note that all sales are final. Purchases cannot be returned, cancelled or exchanged unless they qualify under our Buy Back Programme. Sussex Sperm Bank reserves the right to amend this policy from time to time.
Vial Storage Information
We provide secure, monitored cryogenic storage for all donor sperm purchased through Sussex Sperm Bank, giving you the flexibility to store your vials for future treatment cycles.
Storage is available for periods ranging from 6 months to 2 years, with payment made in advance for your chosen storage term.
As your storage period comes to an end, you can choose to:
- Extend your storage for another period.
- Arrange for your vials to be transferred to another licensed clinic (shipping charges will apply).
- Request a buy back of any eligible unused vials through our Vial Buy Back Programme.
If you would like to extend your storage, you simply have to call in and we will take your payment for the required amount which will then enable us to extend your storage period on our database.
If Your Storage Fees Become Overdue
We know that life gets busy, so if your storage payment is missed, we’ll do our best to contact you before taking any further action.
If payment remains outstanding for 30 days, we will attempt to reach you by making up to four email reminders and four telephone calls.
If we are unable to make contact and payment is still not received after this period, ownership of the stored donor sperm will transfer to Sussex Sperm Bank. At that point, we may retain, reallocate, or dispose of the samples in accordance with our policies and all applicable regulations.
